It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally here. When we first started ThingsThatWeDo.com, my daughter and I really liked the whole black interface. It seemed different and it worked. After a while, I’ll be honest, we both agreed that the site needed a new look.
We love the new look because it features someone very special to our family. See that little monkey? Yep, it’s one of my daughter’s favourite stuffed animal. That one little fella inspired the rest of the look for ThingsThatWeDo.com. From there came the background design and everything else fell in to place.
We hope you like the new look too! We think it’s a lot easier to read. The font is a little bigger and so are the images (even if my photo taking skills aren’t Oscar worthy!).
Any other updates? Well, we should apologize. It’s been ages since we’ve posted on this “Updates” section. We continue to post daily and our topics have broadened quite a fair bit. As the content of the site grows, so do our categories. At some point in time, I’m going to have to figure out a better way to sort all these reviews and posts.
For now, we’re just going to enjoy the moment and celebrate the new look!
Posted: Sometime in 2013…It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything on the Updates page! By now, regular readers of ThingsThatWeDo.com will have noticed the addition of new categories to the right side bar. With all this daily posting, it was time for new categories to make it easier to search for past reviews!
Other updates? Well, we continue to post daily but the interesting thing is, lately, I’ve had more companies contact us with requests to review their products. More often than not, I tend to say yes and will review their products but I’m quite honest that I’ll only post what I feel so it may/not work in their favour. Just because I get free samples doesn’t mean I’ll necessarily post a glowing review. The product has to earn it, of course!
Thank you for your continued support of ThingsThatWeDo.com!
Talk soon on the daily posts since I rarely update this section,
Hi all! Another quick update which I probably should have posted a while ago but hey, better late than never!
For those of you who leave me comments, you will have noticed a slight change in terms of how you can leave a comment. In the past, all you had to do was type in your comment. Well, that option has become increasingly harder to manage. As the site gains in popularity, there have been more ‘irrelevant’ comments that I know aren’t from real people. So, to combat that, the ‘register first before you comment’ strategy has been implemented. That way, only real folks will be acknowledged. Sorry, I recognize it’s an extra hurdle for those of you who like to comment but it seems to be an effective measure of keeping those other comments at bay!
Hello! Thank you for continuing to be a loyal reader at ThingsThatWeDo.com. Can you believe that we’ve been going strongly on a daily basis for more than a year now? Come this May 2013, we’ll have been online for 2 full years! That is quite a feat for little ol’ me and daily typing.
With all that daily typing and posting comes a lot of posts and reviews that need to be categorized. One thing you’ve probably noticed over the past little while is that we’ve expanded our list of categories. The expanded category options will help you to better navigate our past reviews and narrow your search to a particular topic. Rest assured, for those of you who prefer a more global sorting system, the general categories have also been maintained.
Feel free to drop me a line and let us know how we’re doing! You know where to reach us: use our website name (minus the www) and send it along to gmail and we’ll answer you as soon as we can!
Hello and thank you for continuing to be a loyal reader of our product reviews and posts. Here at ThingsThatWeDo.com, we continue to post daily, bringing product reviews on a variety of common items that we think families like ours would use in their own homes. Rather than have you spend all your money, why not give you some of our feedback so you can make an informed decision before spending your hard earned money?
This is a quick update to let you all know that with all the growing content on ThingsThatWeDo.com, we know it isn’t always easy to navigate through all our posts. So, what we’ve decided to do is add more categories to make your search a little faster. For example, we now have a specific section devoted to cereal reviews, reviews on chips and other munchies, a section on all of our sweet treat and chocolate reviews, and so much more. Of course, with the weather getting so hot, we also devoted one review section to all of the sun safety products we’ve reviewed in the past.As our content continues to grow, we’ll be sure to add more categories!
If you have a young child, be sure to check out our kids book review section. I had no idea we’d reviewed so many children’s books until I grouped them all together!
Enjoy the sun and be well! From the family at ThingsThatWeDo.com.
Posted: April 1, 2012 – www.ThingsThatWeDo.com is almost 1 year old!
Yes, it’s true, on May 7, 2012, ThingsThatWeDo.com will be 1 year old. Since it’s beginning, ThingsThatWeDo.com readers have been met with this black page, white text, and orange titled vision. Well, I’ve always liked it but the husband has a point: it is possible that some of our loyal readers may find this contrast a tad too hard to read. Is it true? I’m not sure. I get a lot of positive feedback from our readers on the design of the site which I’m eternally thankful for but never include in the comments section because it sounds all too self-glorifying.
So, we have intent to give you all a new look in the near future and when we do, please let us know what you think of it. In the meantime, you’ve also probably noticed a few more subtle changes that I’ve made to the layout of the pages. To reduce how much you all click to access previous posts, I’ve extended the number of posts per page and I’ve added more links to old posts on the right hand side.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Yes, I agree, it was a long time in coming. If you’ve been following my mommy blog here, you’ll know that we’ve had a facebook page for a while now but you could only find it through our email address at: thingsthatwedo.com plus the gmail word. Well, that’s because this techno turtle of a mom didn’t realize you could make a facebook page specifically for a site until I discovered it during the holidays.
Thus, I’m proud to announce that we now have a proper Facebook page (albeit with very little on it but hey, it’s a start) that you can find simply by typing our website: thingsthatwedo.com. Yay! One step forward is always good! Stay tuned for more updates.
Posted: December 26, 2011 – It’s Boxing Day and I’m posting
Yes, I suppose that is the dedication of running your own blog site. I thought I’d take a quick moment to give you all an update on how things are going with the site. For those of you that follow, you’ll notice that I haven’t asked my child for as much feedback as I did in the past and if I do, I don’t do it in the same interview format as I did before.
You may be wondering, ‘why the change?’ and sadly the reason is because of copyright infringement issues. Ever since I realized that a few of our articles showed up on other sites in full, I was completely taken aback and decided action had to be taken. On top of it all, one of them had her thoughts! That was so not cool.
On the positive side, I wanted to also thank you all for your dedication to the site, for visiting daily and sending me more comments than I can possibly respond to while simultaneously writing more posts to upload! I’m going to continue to try and post daily for as long as I possibly can!

Copyright© 2011 ThingsThatWeDo.com. All Rights Reserved.
For those of you who frequently visit my site, you must have noticed that increase in copyright awareness that I’ve been trying to build into the site. I mean, could it be more obvious? For that, I apologize. I recognize that, for you the reader, it would probably be easier for you to read without all the interruptions. Unfortunately, for me to better protect the content of this site, you’ll have noticed that I’ve added copyright banners and I’ve also changed how I’m writing my posts. I hope you’ll forgive me. It’s like have safety gates all over your house to protect that child from falling down the stairs!
Posted: September 16, 2011 – Attack of the Internet Thieves
If I had a relevant photo, I would use it. I recently discovered that a few of my blog reviews were taken from my website here and posted completely on other websites. I could potentially call it flattery but without my consent, I call it stealing. After all, they’re my ideas, my thoughts (or my daughter’s) and to have them posted elsewhere is indecent, inappropriate, unethical, and downright evil. If you are interested in my blog review, the professional approach would be to consult with me for a link back which I would concede to. However, to fully post my blog review or comment or whatever it is that was taken from my site is NOT appropriate and WRONG.
As such, you’ll notice that I’ve added a copyright standard to all my blog posts so as a reader, you might find this a tad annoying but I hope you understand why. In addition, I’ve added a Terms & Conditions section which is currently quite short but I believe it will suffice for the time being. Know that to avoid pilfering, my blog reviews may change. They will be more light hearted and less detailed because I refuse to have my thoughts and hardwork stolen by others. So, if they want to take fluff, by all means, go for it.
If you have any other suggestions, please do let me know!
Posted: September 3, 2011 – Back to School and Bye to Cold Treats
During the summer months, I’m sure we all had our fair share of indulging in sweet cold treats. From popsicles, to ice cream to gelato to the mocha choca loco frappa chappas. In the true spirit of summer, much of our time was also spent on reviewing summer related foods and products. With back to school, you know cooler weather will soon be just around the corner. We’ll continue to provide all of you with a variety of product reviews, food reviews, and family related event reviews. Just know, you probably won’t see as much ice cream talk from us for the next little while!
Posted: August 1, 2011 – ThingsThatWeDo.com now has a Facebook page!
Well, we’re slowly moving up the techno train and we now have a Facebook page, although if truth be told, I don’t even know how anyone finds a specific Facebook page. Do I tell you our email and you’ll find us or do I tell you our website name? I have no clue! Try finding our Facebook page using our website name: www.ThingsThatWeDo.com or you can try using our email: use our website name including the .firstname.lastname@example.org all in lower case. (in case you’re wondering, I purposely didn’t write the entire email name to avoid those auto robotic spam thingies..nasty little critters they are. Enjoy the rest of the summer. More updates to follow!
Visit the FAQs page: click here
As a techno turtle, you have no idea how exciting this is that I was able to figure out a Twitter account for this blog review website! You will start to see a little Twitter button after each blog review. Having a Twitter account will be another way for you to stay connected with all the ongoings that take place on this site. If I can manage it, I also hope to share additional tips, thoughts, or great deals on the Twitter account.
For the record, the official Twitter account for www.ThingsThatWeDo.com is @comeseewhatwedo , anything else just isn’t me! Happy tweeting!
Posted: June 15, 2011 – Sunny Summer Reviews have Arrived!
As a family, one of the things we love to do is go out and explore the city we live in. Our city is basking in sunny weather on most days and of course, we have our fare share of rain and ‘icky’ weather.
You may have noticed that I’ve focused my efforts on different things we do, eat, and use in the sunnier weather. So, keep your eyes open and enjoy the summery reviews! I know we did!
