Move over potato chip. See you later rice cracker. There is a new fave in town. I don’t know who came up with this concoction over at General Mills but I’m absolutely in love with these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. Yes, it’s a mouthful but there are quite a few different flavours in this line up and I’m only vouching for the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. I tried another flavour which paled in comparison so I’m not even going to mention it.

If you want crunch that reminds you of peanut brittle (but better), look no further. These Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds are it.

Food review: what makes these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with
Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds so good? (and quite frankly, who did this to me?)

Who do I lay blame for my love of these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds? Well, I certainly didn’t pick them up on my own. I’m not a big fan of pre-packaged snack bars. I find far too many too sweet, squishy or full of weird ingredients that I can’t handle.

I snack in moderation, during the day, but I haven’t been impressed by much recently. Then a pal tells me I need to try these new Nature Valley bars. She’s really specific and directs me to the Roasted Peanuts with Sunflower Seeds. I buy the box, I open the bar, I bite into said bar and my fate is sealed.

Now I’m in love.

Take a look at this Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bar with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. There are actual peanuts and sunflower seeds with a light sweet coating that crunches so vibrantly it puts peanut brittle to shame.

Now, let’s be honest with one another. Not all snack bars with nuts taste good. It’s a tricky process and nuts are finicky. Get them upset and they’ll taste rancid or stale. So, I have to tell you that I was actually a little hesitant to take that first bite into the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bar with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. I was almost convinced the nuts would taste off or stale (trust me, it’s happened before with other snack bars and yes, the expiry date was still far far away) so I was incredibly surprised when I was met with such a delicate balance of crunch, nuttiness, savoury and sweet.

My other worry: that these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds might be too sweet (the downfall of many granola bars which gross me out) but they weren’t! Subtly sweet with just a hint of salt to balance out the flavours, these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds did not disappoint. The best part: the crunchy kick. I haven’t had anything this well balanced in AGES!

Thoughts? Not great but not terrible either. I love that roasted peanuts are the first ingredient followed by sunflower seeds. The rest of the ingredients are OKAY compared to some of the other stuff I’ve read on other snack bar boxes. Trust me, I’ve read some labels on snack bars (even the supposed ‘good’ ones) where a sugar/sweetener of some sort came first on the list.

Verdict:

Bottom line: winner!

I probably could have just ended this review with that one caption alone and I would if I could have stopped myself from gushing about these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds.

Talk about serious love!
