Yogurt, an instant quick and easy breakfast, snack, or dessert what’s not to love about it? Lately, it seems as if the marketplace has exploded with a million different types of yogurt. It’s been a while since I last tested a yogurt so I thought I’d give the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt a try. I’ve reviewed some of their other products before in the past with mixed feelings. Some I liked, some not so much. Which way will the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt fall? Let’s find out.

Product Review: What ingredients are in the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt?

Here are the ingredients that went into making the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt: partly skimmed organic milk (good), milk protein concentrate (not sure what this is), and bacterial cultures.

Hey, that’s a pretty nice list of ingredients. It’s short, it’s sweet and relatively easy to understand minus my little comment about the milk protein concentrate. Not sure why that’s needed but in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a bad list. There’s no aspartame, no sugar, no stabilizers or unpronounceable crazy ingredients.

Product Review: How does the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt taste?

For this product review, sadly I was the only one interested in testing it out. There were no other buyers in my home who were willing to try it and I certainly wasn’t about to force anyone. This is no ill reflection on the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt. It just is what it is.

Open up the container of Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt and this is what you get. Even before scooping it out, I can see the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt is going to be on the runny side. Greek yogurt this is NOT. Again, not a bad thing, just an observation and you’d expect as much given that no thickening agents were added to it.

Now, on to taste. I tried the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt all by itself and then I chose to use it as a topping for a dessert. Guess what, the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt tastes great on its own or paired with a dessert as a topping. There’s a lightness to it that appeals to me and works well paired with a more decadent dessert. With no sugar, the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt is on the tart side but it’s not overly so.

Verdict:

Would I buy the Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt again? Yes, I think I would. It’s light, it’s easy to eat. Top it with your favourite granola or toasted nuts and seeds mix. You could even add your own fruit. The Liberte Certified Organic 2.5 Percent Plain Yogurt is just easy.

Enough said.
