Do you like cheese because I like cheese. I like cheese a lot. Cheese might as well be my middle name so you can imagine how ecstatic I was a little while back when the lovely folks at L’Ancentre sent me a test package of their cheeses and butters.
Today’s post is dedicated to the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese. I’m not even going to follow regular ThingsThatWeDo.com post protocol. I’m just going to flat out tell you that this L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese is delicious. If you love those extra old sharp cheddars, then you NEED to try the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese.

Let’s cut to the chase and talk about taste.
Product Review: Does L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese taste?
I’m not even sure words can describe how absolutely delicious the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese is. You see, I love sharp extra old cheddar. The L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese tastes better than the best extra old cheddar I’ve ever tasted and I’m not just saying that because I got the test package from them. If I didn’t like it, I’d say so.
The L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese is tart and decadent. It has all the signature flavours of a sharp extra old cheddar but the flavour is just so much RICHER. You don’t need a lot of the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese to be satisfied. It has a drier, crumblier texture but it is sooooo yummy.
To date, I’ve had the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese paired with all sorts of breads and crackers and of course, I’ve eaten on its own too. OH…it also makes an amazingly decadent and expensive tasting grilled cheese sandwich.
Simply speaking, the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese is absolutely positively divine.
If I was a cheese connoisseur, I’d probably have more appropriate words to better describe the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese. I might talk about fragrant notes and hints of this and that but quite frankly, the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese is likely to be just pure happiness for you if you’re an extra old cheese lover. The hubby and daughter aren’t big fans of old cheeses so they don’t get why I think the L’Ancentre 5 year cheddar cheese tastes so good. What can I say? Try it out for yourself!
