thingsthatwedo.com - neal brothers foods extremely tasty organic tortillasWhen you get the munchies and you want a snack, it’s nice to have something in the home that you can eat without feeling excessively guilty about. Popcorn, chips, rice crackers, crackers…I mean, what is one to choose?!

Enter Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas, a super duper yummy tortilla chip that makes snacking a delight! I discovered them recently at my local health food store. The Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas were on sale which prompted me to pick them up for a product review.

When my big kid first saw the bag, she immediately said, “BLUE? The chips are BLUE?” to which I replied, “Yep!” Her response, “Cooooool!” She was definitely in for a surprise because not only did I buy the tortilla chips but I also bought some mild salsa as well.

Correction: I think the entire family is in for a treat!

Product Review: What ingredients are in Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas?

Here is a list of ingredients that went into making the Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas: organic blue corn, organic sunflower oil (contains citric acid), sea salt, trace of lime.

Organic blue corn? I’ve heard of blue corn before but I’ve actually never seen it with my own two eyes. The rest of the ingredients are basic and easy to understand. Lime? Yep, I know that one. Sea salt? Yep, know that one too. Sunflower oil? Yeah…I mean, it is a snack so what can I say? I mean, it’s organic but it’s still oil and it’s still second on the ingredient list but at least it isn’t ‘modified this’ or ‘modified that’ so we’re on the right track.

Taste Test: How do the Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas taste?

Is it any wonder that my entire family loves Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas? I mean, what’s not to love about a tortilla chip? Being that it’s made with organic blue corn, it’s no surprise that the Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas feature a deep dark colour that looks more black than deep blue. Despite its unique colour, they taste like tortilla chips only better!

The best part is, these tortilla chips have just the right thickness. They’re not too thick so they have a nice sharp crisp crunch to them and yet they’re sturdy enough to help you scoop salsa or any other dip.

The Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas aren’t too salty either which is a nice change. That way, you can pair it with your favourite dip without feeling as though you ate an entire gallon of salt. The hit of lime is subtle and adds just the right little dash of something special.

Overall, I’d say the Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas are well balanced in flavour and in crunch!

Verdict:

When you’re good, you’re good.

Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas make me happy. Correction: they make my entire family happy. I haven’t been interested in potato chips in a long time (which is a good thing. My body certainly doesn’t need them!) so it’s nice to find a crunchy option that I can enjoy without feeling guilty. Of course, our family continues to eat in moderation but at least this way we’re eating something with ingredients we recognize that’s made carefully and simply.
