See this bag of Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies? It was given to me as a treat for snack. You may not believe this but I really don’t ever recall trying it before so I figured I could review it for ThingsThatWeDo.com. I mean, I’ve seen these little Thinsations snacks everywhere and I’ve had some of the other ones before but I’ve never been enticed to try the Chips Ahoy! Version.
Product Review: What ingredients are in Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies?
Here are the ingredients that went into making Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies: enriched wheat flour, sugar, semi-sweet chocolate (sugar, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanilla extract), soybean oil, dextrose, corn starch, baking soda, salt, ammonium bicarbonate, monocalcium phosphate, artificial flavour.
Well, let’s see…that’s a LOT of ingredients for a little itty bitty pack of crisp cookies. I mean, do I need to eat soybean oil or dextrose? I mean, it’s not an utterly hideous ingredient list but it’s not super clean either. I’m not doing jumping jacks over this list but I’m not running for cover either. After all, it’s a store bought snack and you kind of know what you’re getting into when you buy a pack of these things.
Product Review: How do Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies taste?
For those who don’t know, this is what the Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies look like – little hexagon shaped cookies.
How do Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies taste? Like sweet crispy chocolate chip cookies which might be a good thing except I’m not a big fan of overly sweet cookies especially when they’ve got chocolate in them. I find the flavour profile slightly off balanced – too much sweet, not enough of anything else which for me, just doesn’t work.
Do I like Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies? I’m not sure. I mean, I guess they’re okay if you’re in a pinch and you really want a sweet snack. They’re thin-ish, they’re crisp so they’re certainly accurate on that home front. I mean, they only have 100 calories…and while I find them too sweet with 7 grams of sugar per 23 gram bag, you might not mind it if you have a sweet tooth. For me though, these Christie Thinsations Chips Ahoy! Thin Crisp cookies just don’t do much for me.
I think I need some soup….yes, I think I want soup…must be the colder weather. Maybe some fresh baked goods….
