thingsthatwedo.com - pc waffle bowlsYep, it’s August. The sun is still out and it’s still summer which means ice cream is still a hit in our home. Sometimes, we scoop ice cream into cups, sometimes we plop it into bowls, and sometimes, sometimes, we get to eat ice cream with these super awesome PC Waffle Bowls.

These PC Waffle Bowls are an amazing addition to almost any ice cream (at least in my humble opinion) and my entire family loves them. I mean, really, what’s not to love about a waffle bowl made to be ice cream’s best friend??

Product Review: What ingredients are in the PC Waffle Bowls?

Here are the ingredients that went into making the PC Waffle Bowls: enriched wheat flour, brown sugar, soybean or canola and modified palm oil, soy lecithin, oat hull fibre, salt, natural vanilla flavour.

Thoughts?

Well, I’ll be honest, I love the fact that brown sugar was used and not a bunch of other weird sweeteners. I’m not a big fan of the chosen oils but hey, it’s a ‘sometimes’ food. It’s a relatively short list so that’s a good thing especially when you factor in that your typical waffle mix only has a few ingredients.

Taste test: How do PC Waffle Bowls taste?

The entire family loves having ice cream with the PC Waffle Bowls. They’re carefully packaged (thankfully NOT in styrofoam which tends to completely gross me out) so all our waffle bowls were safely intact. Mind you, I also gave the box a little shake at the grocery store just to make sure I didn’t have a bunch of big broken pieces.

I love that the bowls keep their crunch even after I’ve eaten all my ice cream. They don’t get soggy at all. Now, my big kid likes her waffle bowls to have a bit of squish but that didn’t stop her from devouring it. The hubby doesn’t have a preference.

Translation: we all happily ate our ice cream with the PC Waffle Bowls. They’re thick enough to hold their shape. They’re crunchy and they’re sweet with that hint of caramel and vanilla, exactly what you’d expect from a waffle bowl.

Verdict:

Truth be told, I’d say the PC Waffle Bowls are a bit too sweet to be absolutely perfect but hey, they’re almost a home run. What I might do next time is pair the PC Waffle Bowl with an ice cream that isn’t as sweet (yes, it does exist). That might just be magic in the making.

Summer isn’t completely gone yet so there is still perfect justification to indulge with a scoop of ice cream in a decadent waffle bowl.

Wait, I think I might have another.
