You know I’m not a big chocolate fan. At this point in time, my kid actually likes chocolate more than I do which says a lot considering at one point she only liked vanilla ice cream, vanilla cake, and frowned at the sheer sight of chocolate.
Well, I finally found something with chocolate that I find worth eating that isn’t completely over the top disgusting after the first bite (which is generally my impression of chocolate after the first bite unless I’m seriously in the mood for chocolate).
Have you met the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar? Thanks to Enjoy Life, I received a sample box and was able to test them out. If you love a touch of savory to your sweet, you may just fall in love with the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar.
Product Review: What ingredients are in the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar?
Here is the list of ingredients that went into the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar: tapioca syrup, sunflower seed butter (roasted sunflower kernel, evaporated cane juice, salt), evaporated cane juice, chocolate chips (cane sugar, chocolate liquor [non alcoholic], non-dairy cocoa butter), lightly salted sunflower seed kernels (sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, salt), crunchy rice (rice flour, rice bran, raisin juice concentrate, honey, salt), cocoa powder, oil roasted pumpkin seed kernels (pumpkin seeds, sunflower oil, salt), vegetable glycerin, brown drizzle (evaporated cane juice, cocoa powder, palm kernel oil, ricemilk, sunflower lecithin, salt, vanilla), pre-cooked quinoa flakes, puffed amaranth, white rice flour, light buckwheat flour, vanilla, millet flour, xanthan gum, konjiac flour.
WOW, that is one long list of goods but have a good read and it’s pretty good, all things considered. There’s no corn syrup, dextrose, fructose or anything like that. There’s nothing hydrogenated and I know what most of it is. No mono and diglycerides and all that other junk that I often see in other bars.
So, while the list of ingredients for the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar is pretty extensive, it’s also pretty good.
Taste Test: How does the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar taste?
An astounding two thumbs up. I essentially took the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bars and gave out chunks to different friends to try and of course, the kid got her own bar, and I thought I deserved a whole bar. Everyone who tried the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar liked the taste, the texture, and the mix of chocolate with sunflower.
What I really liked about the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar is that it’s not too sweet. I found most items made with chocolate are just too sweet to the point where they become unpalatable. Not so with the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar. The addition of sunflower to the mix really really makes this yummy.
The Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar really is soft and decadent. Each bite is rich, chocolaty, slightly sweet, and a tad nutty. My daughter loved the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar and so did everyone else.
Now, let me be clear: this is not a brownie bar. It may look like a brownie but it doesn’t bite or chew like a brownie. It also doesn’t bite like a chocolate cake. The Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bar is soft but it’s dense so every bite is really satisfying and lingers so it makes the flavours last that much longer in your mouth. The bars aren’t big, only 34 grams each, but it’s more than enough to be satisfying.
I should really stop typing these reviews so late at night!
If you like chocolate and you like nut butters, you’ll probably really like the Enjoy Life Chocolate SunButter Soft Baked Bars. When Enjoy Life said these were 100% natural decadence, they weren’t kidding. I feel like I’m eating a really good chocolate bar made with really good stuff. I also really appreciate that these Enjoy Life bars are non-GMO verified. How many products do you know can make that claim? NOT many. I rest my case.
