Do I like chips? Yep. Could I eat bags and bags of chips? Yep. I mean, it depends on the day and the flavour and my mood but yep, I could eat a lot of chips. Do I? Nope. Thankfully, I can self regulate and eat in moderation but hey, the point is I could.

Could I eat loads of loads of chocolate? NOPE. I’m just not a huge fan of chocolate bars and whatnot. I’ll eat chocolate occasionally because I do like chocolate cake (minus the goopy icing) and chocolate mousse (so long as it isn’t disgustingly sweet) but it’s not something I would dream about day in and day out.

Fast forward to a recent grocery shopping trip. My daughter spots this bar of PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate and she asks to buy it. She likes chocolate and she likes lemon so for her, this was a perfect match. Let’ s just hope it tastes good!

Product Review: What ingredients are in the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate?

thingsthatwedo.com - pc lemon meringue filled milk chocolateHere are the ingredients that went into the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar: Sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, milk fat, skim milk powder, unsweetened chocolate, modified milk ingredient, meringue (sugar, egg-white, wheat starch), natural flavours, sunflower lecithin, turmeric extract. May contain peanuts, tree nuts and soy.

All things considered, the ingredient list for the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate isn’t bad. It has the usual culprits that you’d expect in a chocolate bar minus a lot of the gunky ingredients that you might find in some other chocolate bars. I mean, there’s no polyglycerol polyricinoleate, no palm kernel oil, no hydrogenated oils. Sure, the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar has stuff like modified milk ingredients but still, it could be a whole lot worse.

Product Test: how does the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar taste?

thingsthatwedo.com - pc lemon meringue filled milk chocolateOpen the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar and my big kid is jumping for joy. She can’t wait to try it out. I was a little apprehensive because quite frankly, tasting chocolate isn’t my idea of fun.

Here’s your first look of the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar. It has a smooth milk chocolate coating and then magic in the middle. I don’t know if you can tell but the centre consists of a crunchy lemon meringue like filling. My big kid and I both tried the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar and we both liked it – A LOT.

The sweetness from the milk chocolate is nicely offset by the slight tartness in the lemon meringue filling. What I really like about the filling is the crunchiness. I like that it wasn’t overly sweet so that I could enjoy the actual flavour of the chocolate bar.

My big kid loved the PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar. She loved the milk chocolate and the lemony meringue filling. Like me, she also liked the airy crunch of the filling.

Verdict:

thingsthatwedo.com - pc lemon meringue filled milk chocolateI hate to say it but this is one of the few chocolate bars that I don’t mind. Would I eat the entire PC Lemon Meringue Filled Milk Chocolate bar in one sitting? NOPE. If I was offered a piece would I eat it? Absolutely. Would my big kid eat it again? TOTALLY. Would she want to eat the entire bar? Yep, probably. Should she? Well, that’s a whole other story. 🙂
