Our family drinks almond milk or almond beverage (whatever you want to call it, you know what I mean). We’ve been trying different varieties and we’ve tasted a few different flavours. Up to now, we’ve only tried almond milk that comes in a carton. Recently, we decided to try Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour. They came in these cute little tetra boxes and were perfect for carting around.

If you’re looking for an almond beverage and you want to treat yourself, you should definitely give Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour a try. I’m not a chocolate fan and I like it!
Product Review: How does Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour taste?

There is something so super delicious about the chocolate almond milk that Earth’s Own makes. Their Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour is rich, creamy, chocolaty without being too sweet. The funny thing is, it tastes just like regular chocolate milk minus the intense sweetness that irks me so much. It’s rich but light at the same time. My daughter and I tried Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour and we both loved it. My big kid wasn’t too hard to convince given that she loves chocolate but the fact I’m impressed is huge. Remember, I’m not a big fan of chocolate so the fact that I like it is definitely a good sign.

Perhaps what I love most about Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour is that it’s well balanced. It’s chocolaty, slightly sweet and both tastes complement one another instead of trying to overpower one another.

Now, I have to apologize. We tried the Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour, well, on the go so I never did get a chance to take a photo of what the actual drink looks like.

The folks at Earth’s Own really knew what they were doing when they made this chocolate almond beverage!

Product Review: What ingredients are in Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour?

thingsthatwedo.com - earths own almond on the go chocolate flavourHere are the ingredients that went into making Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour: almond base (filtered water, almonds), sugar, cocoa powder, tricalcium phosphate, canola oil, natural flavour, salt, gellan gum, canola lecithin and/or sunflower lecithin, carrageean, vitamin A palmitate, zinc gluconate, riboflavin, vitamin D2, vitamin B12.

Wow, that’s quite the lengthy list but then again you’d expect that given you’re drinking a chocolate almond beverage. With the ‘c’ word added to this drink, it automatically puts it in the ‘drink in moderation’ category. While Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour is certainly tasty, there’s no denying that sugar is the second ingredient (I mean, at least it’s not corn syrup or glucose or fructose) or that it’s got canola oil and canola lecithin in it which have never been on my favourite list.

Sigh… my brain is having a serious almond dilemma.

Verdict:

thingsthatwedo.com - earths own almond on the go chocolate flavourMy big kid likes Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour. The fact that it comes in a tetra box was one of the main reasons why we picked it up. We were travelling and wanted something other than juice and water to bring with us. This seemed like the perfect fit and yet, it’s got sugar as its second ingredient and the word ‘canola’ appears twice on its ingredient list and I’m not a fan of either.

So, my mommy consumer brain must now make a decision. To buy or not to buy in the future?

Well, on the one hand, it’s definitely better than soda pop. I can’t stand that stuff. I’ve just never been that in to pop. I like regular almond milk and I do like this Earth’s Own Almond on the go! in chocolate flavour too.

Hmm…

I guess it would be okay to have this sometimes. I mean, it’s not like we drink it every day and we try to avoid canola oil as much as possible so this might be the one loophole that we allow it in.

Hmm….
