A look at the ingredient list reveals the following ingredients: organic quinoa (organic whole grain quinoa, organic quinoa flakes, organic quinoa puffs), peanuts, tapioca syrup, raw sugar, crystallized ginger (ginger, cane sugar), honey, almond oil, baking soda, and salt. That’s a pretty decent list of ingredients, right? Nothing hydrogenated, no funny fats, no BHT, and other creepy crawlies so I’m feeling pretty good about these I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters. If you’ve done a little reading on quinoa, you’ll also know that it’s a complete source of protein with all nine essential amino acids. So, as a snack, this seems like an extra bonus.

So, I’m hoping these I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters are going to taste good. I mean, it’s got quinoa, ginger, and peanut. It’s sweet so why wouldn’t they taste good right?

I sample my first little square and they’re not bad. These I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters have a nice snappy crunch to them and remind me of peanut brittle with a kick. They have that kind of sharp snap to them and the quinoa is incredibly crunchy. I almost wish the peanuts were chopped into finer pieces to be a better match to the quinoa. The way they are now, the peanuts don’t crunch as much as the rest of the cluster and thus leaves me wanting for a snappier kick from them. The candied ginger adds a hint of a spicy kick without being overpowering so overall, I’d say this is a pretty yummy treat. Dangerously, I can see myself easily polishing off this bag in one sitting so maybe, that’s not such a good thing!


Verdict:

Would I recommend you to try these I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters? Yes and no. These I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters come with a hefty price tag. Not on sale, where I live, this one bag alone was going for almost $8. On sale, I found them for under $3. If there were $8, I’d leave them on the shelf because I’d save that kind of money for items that would put a substantial meal on my family table. For example, I’d pick up a real bag of quinoa and make something hearty for dinner. Heck, I’d still have money left over to buy organic ginger!

So, if you see these I Heart Keenwah Ginger Peanut all natural quinoa clusters on sale, sure, try them out. Otherwise, leave them on the shelf. I appreciate quality products but I just can’t justify spending that much money on a snack when I know I could funnel that money into something healthier and more substantial.
