Sep 9, 2015 - homework book from 2011From time to time, I make odd discoveries. Sometimes, I have ‘AHA!’ moments. I occasionally post about ‘UGH’ moments, ‘NO WAY’ moments, and the ‘fall-on-my-face-I-can’t-believe-that-just-happened’ moments. Other times, I post about moments in my life where the ‘I can’t believe it’ happens.

I’ll let you decide what category today’s post falls under.

Hint: the image is incredibly small so you know it’s an image from the early days when was just starting up and I somehow thought it was a good idea to have microscopic pics on the site.

Yes, it is a homework book and yes, I did get it on sale for $5. It’s a very thick homework book with quality material so $5 was an outrageously good deal. In fact, it was such a great deal that I purchased two books, one for grade 3 and one for grade 4 (and yes, I do think this image is smaller than the other one!). - homework book from 2011

Oh, did I mention I purchased them when my big kid was only in diapers? What can I say, it was a GREAT deal and I couldn’t resist. I love books and I love a great deal and I figured she’d need them sooner or later (or in this case, A LOT later).

Well, as life would have it, I’m not always the most organized person. Sometimes, I mean well and I try to be the epitome of organized and that’s usually when I get in trouble.

Some point along the way, I tidied up these two homework books. Years pass and my big kid is about to enter grade 4. I browse through my old images and that’s when I realize that I haven’t seen these homework books in YEARS! I had no idea where they were. I searched high and low in all the typical ‘organized’ places that I would put books.

Then, one random day, I’m helping the hubby with a little tidying up. Lo and behold, tucked away with his stuff are these 2 homework books!!! Although my daughter is now entering grade 4, she still gets a kick out of the grade 3 homework book. She loves word problems and will often use the grade 3 book to review concepts she’s learned. She uses it independently while we do the grade 4 book together.

Sigh. Finally, found at last. pic - kids 2015

Lesson learned: it’s fine and dandy to love deals but if you’re going to store them away for a while, be sure you know where you put them!!
