There we were eating some quick and easy ‘homemade pizza’ when my daughter makes an important discovery. She tells me to grab the camera. I grab the camera and take the photo.
Question is: do you see what she saw?
Her comment, “Hey mom, this looks like a crow!”
Funny how she noticed that. She pointed out every aspect of the crow from its beak to the branch it was perched on.
How often do we adults miss moments like this where everyday objects become the source for imagination to soar? You see, that’s the beauty of creativity, to think outside the box, to see beyond the familiar and envision something novel and unexpected.
All that from a slice of homemade pizza?
That one statement from my big kid was a perfect demonstration of creativity at its finest.
Things to do for us adults: to see more than what’s before us and, maybe just maybe, to think of the many people we pass by and never think about as more than just a blur. We all have a story to share. We just have to ‘see’ that story.
