thingsthatwedo.com - nature-valley-roasted-nut-crunch-bars

Move over potato chip. See you later rice cracker. There is a new fave in town. I don’t know who came up with this concoction over at General Mills but I’m absolutely in love with these Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. Yes, it’s a mouthful but there are quite a few different flavours in this line up and I’m only vouching for the Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. I tried another flavour which paled in comparison so I’m not even going to mention it.

If you want crunch that reminds you of peanut brittle (but better), look no further. These Nature Valley Roasted Nut Crunch Bars with Roasted Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds are it. – Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - bamboo lane crunchy rice rollers

Do you know what this is?

Yes, it’s an empty bag. It used to be a full bag of Bamboo Lane Crunchy Rice Rollers. It was a treat from a friend. She told me to share with the family and that’s what I did. I was about to take a photo of the unopened bag. I stepped away to find the camera and when I came back, well, the bag was already opened and a few of the rice rollers had disappeared. I managed to at least snap a photo of what they look like.

thingsthatwedo.com - boulder canyon avocado oil canyon cut potato chips

I go through phases where I’m ‘pro-chip’ and other times I’m ‘chip? What’s a chip?’ I generally prefer savory snacks over sweet ones and on this particular occasion I decided to pick up this bag of Boulder Canyon Avocado Oil Canyon Cut potato chips.

Why?

Oh, because they mentioned avocado oil and I was intrigued. Would potato chips cooked in avocado oil taste any different than the typical po-chip?

thingsthatwedo.com - gh cretors chicago mix popped corn

Let’s cut to the chase: if you’re looking for something yummy to snack on, you should really try the Chicago Mix by G.H. Cretors Popped Corn. I mean, I love eating popcorn but I don’t always like the pre-packaged stuff. Sometimes, it’s too bland and sometimes it’s too salty or sometimes it’s just plain old stale. So when a friend recommended I try the Chicago Mix by G.H. Cretors Popped Corn, I jumped in for the taste test but I did so with some hesitation.

Well, this Chicago Mix by G.H. Cretors Popped Corn is my newfound favourite popcorn. – Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - lundberg ketchup rice chips

I haven’t been happy with potato chips for a long long time now. Sure, I like to eat them occasionally but they always seem to be missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it but potato chips seemed somehow pointless (which is probably a very good thing).

Having said that, it doesn’t mean I’m not interested in trying new crunchy things. While I don’t need to plow through an entire bag of potato chips in one sitting, I don’t mind the occasional crunchy savory snack.

On a recent trip to my local health food store, I decided to pick up this bag of Lundberg ketchup rice chips. I love ketchup, my daughter loves ketchup so I figured this would be a nice treat for the two of us.

Boy, was I right!!! – Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - simply 7 quinoa chips

The first time I reviewed a Simply 7 product was back in 2013. The next time I did was in August 2015. It’s now December 2015 and here I am with one more Simply 7 review.

Why?

Because a pal at work picked up this bag of Simply 7 Sea Salt Quinoa Chips and I was curious to see why my opinion would be of these quinoa chips. I like quinoa and I have it all the time but not usually in chip form. Hey, when pals buy, I try! – Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - christie tomato and sweet basil triscuit made with brown rice

Honestly, I didn’t even know how to put that all together. I know they’re Triscuits made with brown rice and I know they’re from Christie. There were a million different flavours and I settled on the one with the tomato and sweet basil. I love tomatoes and I love basil so this seemed like a great cracker to snack on. It was on sale and I wanted something with a crunch that didn’t come in the form of a potato chip.

Let’s just say these Christie Triscuit crackers are not for the meek. – Continue Reading

Have you noticed them recently – these boxes of Christie Triscuits. I turned around one day at the grocery store and there they were, a whole variety of Christie Triscuit crackers just screaming to be tasted. I mean, the flavours were all so intriguing and they all sounded so tasty. They also happened to be on sale so after much consideration, I ended up with a box of Christie Triscuit seasoned with dill, sea salt, and olive oil.

These are definitely not your everyday Triscuits.

Enter Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas, a super duper yummy tortilla chip that makes snacking a delight! I discovered them recently at my local health food store. The Neal Brothers Extremely Tasty Organic Tortillas were on sale which prompted me to pick them up for a product review.

When my big kid first saw the bag, she immediately said, “BLUE? The chips are BLUE?” to which I replied, “Yep!” Her response, “Cooooool!” She was definitely in for a surprise because not only did I buy the tortilla chips but I also bought some mild salsa as well.

Correction: I think the entire family is in for a treat!
