thingsthatwedo.com - likewise game by Buffalo games

A friend of mine owns a lot of games, I mean A LOT of games. She has boxes and boxes of board games and occasionally she decides to do a little spring cleaning. That’s when I usually get boxes and boxes of games because she’s convinced my family will love them.

Out of curiosity, I take the games home and our family tries them out. Truth be told, the games are usually ones I’ve never heard of until she passes them my way.

Allow me to introduce you to exhibit A: Likewise, a board game by Buffalo Games. - Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com pic - pig

Odd how that question comes up occasionally. Regular readers of ThingsThatWeDo.com will know of the Paderno Nature Trust pan that I’ve had since March 2013 and how much buzz my Paderno posts seem to generate. Some folks would email and rave about their Paderno pans while others weren’t quite as positive.

I haven’t talked about that pan since November of 2015! I didn’t even realize that much time had passed!! Given that it’s now 2017, some of you have wondered about that Paderno Nature Trust pan and whether or not it’s still in my home. - Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - a-pentatonix-christmas-cd

December 25th may be right around the corner but I am having a Pentatonix Christmas right now.

As in, RIGHT NOW and I have no intent of slowing down.

Yes, Pentatonix has been blaring in our home every single day for the past 3 weeks. I’ve been having a jolly good Pentatonix Christmas and I’m ECSTATIC. There’s Christmas music and then there are the sweet harmonies and melodies made by Pentatonix who continue to make acapella magic. If you haven’t picked up your copy of A Pentatonix Christmas, you should. - Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - scotch-essentials-sweater-pill-remover

If you’re a regular reader of ThingsThatWeDo.com you’ll know I’m not a big fan of shopping. It’s an activity that just doesn’t agree with me. Malls with all the bright lights and noise are just far too excessive in my humble opinion. Now, clothes come and go and your favourites are always the first ones to get tossed because they’re overworked and overtired and show their age far too soon.

Enter Scotch Essentials Sweater Pill Remover. My big kid found this for me during one of our random excursions. We were browsing the aisles at one of our local stores and she gives me a poke and a jab towards the Scotch Essentials Sweater Pill Remover. Intrigued, I picked it up and read the box. - Continue Reading

thingsthatwedo.com - tide big bar

Occasionally, I’ll walk into a store just to browse. It’s a rare moment when I feel like I have a few moments to spare but I had one of those days a little while back and browse I did.

There I was, strolling along and this is what I stumble upon.

A Tide Big Bar?

Huh.

I had no idea Tide made bars like this. Now, I have no idea what the bar itself says but I’m guessing if it’s made by Tide, it’s likely a detergent bar. Prior to me stumbling into this store I only knew of the typical Tide products, liquid laundry detergent and such but a Tide Big Bar?

I was surprised! I almost bought it just so I could see what was inside but then I didn’t want to be wasteful since I use a different brand of laundry detergent.

It’s funny how something so small could be so intriguing. Why? Because this Tide Big Bar was unexpected and out of the norm. I blurred out the price and name of the store because I didn’t want the focus of the post to be about any of that. For me, it was purely the surprise of seeing a familiar name with an unfamiliar product.

Has anyone used a Tide Big Bar? Let me know if you have!

Oh my, where do I begin??

JUST WATCH THIS!

There, that about sums it up.

I absolutely love Pentatonix. Pentatonix released their fourth album back in 2015 and I’ve been listening to it ever since. I bopped to “Na Na Na”, I grooved to “Can’t Sleep Love”, I danced like a maniac to “Sing” while simultaneously belting my heart out. “Water” was one of my favourites. It was ethereal and effervescent. I loved all the tunes, from “Cracked” to “New Year’s Day”. I mean, I could go on forever. I can’t carry a tune for the life of me but I didn’t care. I was having too much fun!

As time went on however, I craved something new from Pentatonix. I could feel that something new was on its way, I just didn’t know what and then out came this video.

Pentatonix has created yet another masterpiece, this time blending English with Japanese for their “Perfume” medley. Now, I’ll be honest, I had no idea what a “Perfume” medley was so I had to do a little digging and discovered that Perfume is a Japanese group. Sure, the use of Japanese in the song probably gave it away but I truly didn’t know the group existed until Pentatonix did the medley.

Thank you Pentatonix for this Perfume medley and for reminding everyone of how incredibly talented you are. As an accapella group, really, your talents are limitless. The notes, the harmonization, the creativity, and vibrancy you bring to the world of music is inspiring. You’ve tackled songs in French, Korean, and now Japanese too.

I mean, does it get any better than that?
