This was a random buy. I was intrigued. Pita crisps? Chia and quinoa? Hm…The Sensible Portions Chia and Quinoa Pita Crisps looked promising. Mar 11, 2017 - snyders-of-hanover-honey-mustard-and-onion-pretzel-pieces

Long title I know but it had to be said! My viewpoint, I know.

I used to love potato chips and, I’m not going to lie, I still munch on a few here and there. My love for potato chips however, just isn’t what it used to be. This is probably a good thing considering chips aren’t exactly a standup food group. In moderation, yes, fit chips into your lifestyle but I wouldn’t recommend eating a bag a day.

A fun substitution: Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzel Pieces. They’re savory, flavourful, and the best part is, you only need a few to feel satisfied. Yes, they are salty (they are flavoured pretzel pieces, after all) but I’d rather eat a small handful of Snyder’s Pretzel Pieces than eat an entire bag of chips. – Continue Reading

Dec 20, 2016 - belvita-cocoa-breakfast-bites

Allow me to introduce you to this very unassuming bag of belVita Cocoa Breakfast Bites. I did not buy this bag of belVita Cocoa Breakfast Bites. No, I did not. It came to me as a free sample and as a wise family member once told me: “You don’t say no to free samples.”

So true.

Truth be told, the folks are belVita are quite lucky I received this bag of Cocoa Breakfast Bites as a free sample because I guarantee you I would have never bought this myself at the grocery store. It’s simply not something I would be interested in buying.

Question is: how are these belVita Cocoa Breakfast Bites?

Well…personal preference is personal preference. – Continue Reading

Aug 27, 2016 - bamboo lane crunchy rice rollers

Do you know what this is?

Yes, it’s an empty bag. It used to be a full bag of Bamboo Lane Crunchy Rice Rollers. It was a treat from a friend. She told me to share with the family and that’s what I did. I was about to take a photo of the unopened bag. I stepped away to find the camera and when I came back, well, the bag was already opened and a few of the rice rollers had disappeared. I managed to at least snap a photo of what they look like.

Feb 5, 2016 - LOC maria crepes belgian chocolate biscuits

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually like something with chocolate in it. Over the Christmas holidays a friend gave me this box of LOC Maria Crepes Belgian Chocolate Biscuits.

I loved the vibrant red box with its gold snowflakes but what I loved even more were the little biscuits themselves.

Oct 29, 2015 - christie tomato and sweet basil triscuit made with brown rice

Honestly, I didn’t even know how to put that all together. I know they’re Triscuits made with brown rice and I know they’re from Christie. There were a million different flavours and I settled on the one with the tomato and sweet basil. I love tomatoes and I love basil so this seemed like a great cracker to snack on. It was on sale and I wanted something with a crunch that didn’t come in the form of a potato chip.

Let’s just say these Christie Triscuit crackers are not for the meek. – Continue Reading

Oct 7, 2015 - Papadopoulos Petit Beurre biscuits

A few days ago, I posted a recipe for no bake chocolate treats. I mentioned that I used some crushed biscuits but didn’t really identify which biscuits I used. Well, here they are.

Allow me to introduce you to Papadopoulos Petit Beurre biscuits. Instead of using crushed graham crackers which I often find too sweet, I decided to use these Papadopoulos Petit Beurre biscuits in the no bake chocolate treats. Whether you eat them plain or add them to your next baked treat, these Papadopoulos Petit Beurre biscuits are super yummy. – Continue Reading

Sep 8, 2015 - triscuit with dill sea salt and olive oil

Have you noticed them recently – these boxes of Christie Triscuits. I turned around one day at the grocery store and there they were, a whole variety of Christie Triscuit crackers just screaming to be tasted. I mean, the flavours were all so intriguing and they all sounded so tasty. They also happened to be on sale so after much consideration, I ended up with a box of Christie Triscuit seasoned with dill, sea salt, and olive oil.

These are definitely not your everyday Triscuits.
