Nov 4, 2017 - batman-projection-light

For the record, I’m not a huge Batman fan. I like Batman and many of the other superheroes but I’m not a huge Batman collector and my home is certainly not covered in Batman memorabilia. However, when things are cool, they’re cool and deserve a little shout out.

Case in point: a Batman projection light!

No way!

Yes, way!

A Batman projection light! Can you imagine how much fun a Batman fan would have with that?! It even comes with the little keychain clasp so you can carry it with you wherever you go for those times when you just need to get that signal out.

I found this little Batman projection light at my local bookstore and decided to pick one up for a pal of mine who fits right into that ‘big fan’ category. When he goes to the coffee shop, he’ll even identify himself as Bruce (I did not make that up). You should have seen his face when he got that little Batman projection light.

I tell you, we should all be so happy with the simpler things in life. pic - kids 2015

Things to do: keep your eyes open for fun finds, not just for yourself but for others as well and in case you were wondering, those fun finds don’t have to cost a dime either. All it takes it a little bit of thought and a whole lot of heart.

Aug 9, 2017 - likewise game by Buffalo games

A friend of mine owns a lot of games, I mean A LOT of games. She has boxes and boxes of board games and occasionally she decides to do a little spring cleaning. That’s when I usually get boxes and boxes of games because she’s convinced my family will love them.

Out of curiosity, I take the games home and our family tries them out. Truth be told, the games are usually ones I’ve never heard of until she passes them my way.

Allow me to introduce you to exhibit A: Likewise, a board game by Buffalo Games. – Continue Reading

finding doryHello there, folks. I know I haven’t posted in a month or two but here I am now – Jenny from Today I’m doing a post on this good movie called ‘Finding Dory’ about a fish who can’t remember anything.

I saw the movie in the theatre and it was very good. Like I said before, the movie is about a fish who can’t remember anything. One day, while Dory was asleep somehow (I can’t remember) she remembered that she had a family.

From the old Finding Nemo movie, Dory gets Marlin and Nemo to help find her family. On the way, she ends up in the marine life centre because she ends up tangled in plastic garbage. The marine staff think she’s injured so they bring her back to the marine life institute. An octopus named Hank came to see her when she was in her tank and he told her she had a tag on her fin that said she was going to Cleveland. He wanted her tag because he had bad memories of the ocean and wanted to go to Cleveland. So, eventually, she promises that if he helps her find the open ocean exhibit (where she thinks her parents are) she’ll give him the tag.

Eventually, Dory finds her parents near the edge of California. I’ll leave the rest of it for you to figure out.

Mom Question: Did you like the movie?

Jenny’s Answer: Yes.

Q: Why?

A: Because it had a good meaning like fish belong in the water and it’s also about family like you’ll never forget your family no matter where you go even if you’re forgetful like this fish! It’s also important to recycle because you can get fish in hot water!

p.s. Dory suffers from short term memory loss

Q: Funniest part of the movie?

A: There are a lot of funny parts…um…I like Destiny the whale shark and Bailey the beluga whale. They were funny!

Q: Do you think Finding Dory is a good movie for children of all ages?

A: Yes, even adults too! It’s got a good meaning for everyone!

Final Thoughts?

The Finding Dory movie was really good and I hope you watch it. Final words: recycle, be good to your family, and have hope!

May 5, 2016 - crazy aarons thinking putty

When I was growing up there was Silly Putty, that oddly slippery substance that you could mold, squish, and squash. Fast forward to modern times and Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty is on the store shelf right there with that Silly Putty. While I still love Silly Putty, I’m also fascinated by Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty. There were so many different choices to choose from. Eventually, I purchased one called Krypton that claimed to glow in the dark. Boy did it ever glow! – Continue Reading

Mar 22, 2016 - zootopiaWho has time, really? I take a few days off work and I still worry about work and it’s a constant chatter in the back of my mind. I try to switch it off and most days it works but it does get the better of me at times.

Then Zootopia rolls in and my big kid and I can’t wait to see it in the theatre. Even the hubby wants to watch it. So, finally, there we are at the theatre lining up to get our tickets. Only problem is, the tickets for the timeslot we want to watch is

Talk about disappointment. There we were, in the lineup, trying to decide if we’d stick around for a later show. In the end, we decided to purchase tickets for the later afternoon show and spent a few hours just hanging out together as a family. We talked, we laughed, and we had a lot of fun.

Zootopia was well worth the wait and certainly helped to end the day on a positive note. If you need an easy children’s movie to watch with a lot of wit and action, this just might be the one for you. – Continue Reading

Mar 15, 2016 - pilot frixion clicker retractable gel pen

I love stationary, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You name it, I probably love it: erasers, cool paper clips, sticky notes, and most recently I’ve fallen in love with these Pilot Frixion clicker retractable gel pens. It’s a gel pen but it’s ERASABLE! - pilot frixion clicker retractable gel pen

I mean, that’s ridiculously cool. No, in fact, it’s just outlandish. – Continue Reading

Mar 4, 2016 - hexbug circuit boardsA few years back, my daughter got a little mini skateboard just big enough for her little fingers to maneuver. It was also the perfect size to use as a prop for some of her smaller stuffed animals.

Now, little toys have a tendency to ‘disappear’ and for months, that little skateboard was not to be found. Then, the hubby stumbles upon this pack of mini skateboards at our local toy store.
