Once upon a recent time, I came across the Live Clean line quite by accident and fell in love. I wrote an awesome review on the Live Clean sensitive skin fragrance free lotion and decided I’d try another one of their products, just cuz I wanted to. This time around, I decided to buy the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap at my local pharmacy. Why, you ask? Well, call me nuts but I was actually enticed by the ‘sweet pea’ tag. I mean, what would sweet pea hand soap smell like? Plus, I’m not exactly thrilled by the hand soap my daughter has been using ever since we ran out of the Green Beaver lavender foaming hand soap. So, what not try the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap and review it for ThingsThatWeDo.com?

Product Review:
Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap

True to the Live Clean name, this Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap has all the goodies I’ve come to love and appreciate. It’s 98% plant derived, SLS/sulfate free (awesome!), paraben free (super awesome), phthalate free, phosphate free, petroleum free, and the good stuff keeps going on and on and on. It even has vitamin A and E and that’s only what I read on the label. I haven’t even cracked open the bottle yet! Even my child was curious about the name. When she saw it, she said, “SWEET PEA? Hand soap? I WANNA TRY!” and this is how you know my kid is now the official ThingsThatWeDo.com product tester. 😉

We open up the bottle and my kid pumps away until a small amount of the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap is dispensed. Immediately, she says, “mmmm..smells nice!” We both wash our hands at the same time and I immediately notice a difference in how my hands feel.  Usually after I wash my hands, I can feel them drying out, like whatever moisture I had in my skin is being sucked away. I’m left with hands that only a crocodile could love. But, I have to tell you that this Live Clean hand soap bubbles coat your hands in this very soft and soothing texture. It’s creamy but it lathers too.

Before washing my hands with the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap, I always figured soap just washes your hands, be sure to scrub for 20 seconds to get rid of the germs, and that’s it. After washing my hands with the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap, I feel the exact opposite. I honestly washed my hands and after I dried them, I had this odd moment where I kind of stared at my hands, opened and closed them a few times and stared at them some more. They felt SO different. They actually felt soft and hydrated. They certainly didn’t feel parched, which is the feeling I’ve become accustomed to at home and at work after washing my hands.

A few days after using the Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap, I asked my child how she felt about the new soap and she said, “It’s the best soap ever!” We both love the way it smells and it lathers well too. If Live Clean can make this liquid hand soap without all the crud that other companies use, I have to ask why doesn’t everyone else make hand soap this good? Of course, there is a difference in the price point especially when finances are tight. But, given that my child is still so young, I’d rather get Live Clean for her over other conventional brands to limit her exposure to toxins and all the other yuck that is out there. This Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap works especially well for her since she has eczema prone skin so the moisturizing effect seems to have been really beneficial this winter.

Verdict:

Without a doubt, I’d definitely buy this Live Clean Sweet Pea Moisturizing Liquid Hand soap again. Of course, I’d be sure to stock up if I’m ever lucky enough to see it on sale. I have to say, it’s not as widely available as I’d like so here’s to hoping that I’ll see it in more stores because it is certainly miles better than any other hand soap I’ve ever used. I actually even liked it more than the Green Beaver foaming hand soap because that one left a bit of a bubbly mess on the bathroom counter and they certainly didn’t make my daughter’s hands feel as good as they do now. Thank you Live Clean for yet another fantastic product. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep talking about ya!
