Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna – Coconut spread

Photo courtesy of Official website: https://store.nutiva.com/coconut-manna/

I don’t know if you have this issue but I am constantly looking for something different to eat at breakfast. With the morning rush and getting my family ready for work and school, I get bored of just eggs, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and the staple of breads. I know what I love. I love peanut butter, but even that has a limit (5 days straight and I’m ready to eat plain bread!).

I stumbled across this coconut delight during a recent trip to the grocery store. I call it a coconut spread but some might call it coconut butter or coconut cream. I think spread because my intention was to spread it on my morning piece of toast.

Right off the bat, I loved what I read under the ingredient list: organic coconut. That’s it!! No preservatives, additives, nothing I can’t read or spell. Organic, natural goodness. I felt like I’d hit a home run already.

Product review: What happened?

I buy it, take it home, and get to work on it after dinner because I’m desperate to try it. As soon as you crack open the lid, the scent of coconut permeates the air and I kid you not, I start salivating (thank you, Pavlov!). However, my attempt to dive straight in is thwarted because it’s rock hard and given its natural state, requires some mixing to blend all the coconut goodness together.

I read the label, dunk it in hot water, mix and mix again, and finally, I get to spread it on my toasted pita bread.

Verdict:

Say goodbye to peanut butter for the next few weeks and hello to Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna! While it already tastes great, rich smooth coconutty goodness, I splurge and drizzled honey on top and that sent me right over the moon. You honestly don’t need much to pack a flavourful punch. Its rich without making me feel guilty and I’m convinced I moaned and groaned through the entire thing.

Although I was annoyed at having to heat up the entire jar to blend and mix the coconut spread, I was willing to do it. Why? Because I appreciate that natural means I sometimes have to put effort into what I eat. I’d rather spend a few more minutes mixing the different components of coconut together than have my food pumped with irrelevant and harmful products just so it can be ‘easy’ for me.

Will I buy/eat this again?? If you haven’t guessed it yet, yes, yes, yes, YES!!!!!

I find myself strongly over it and love learning on this topic, and melted it a bit leaving resin on the bottom of the part?

Hello! Thank you for your reply. I personally love the Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna and I think you may be referring to the consistency of it after you warm it up. I do find that it has a very interesting texture. Depending on the temperature you have it at, the Coconut manna can go from being a complete solid to a very runny oozy consistency. Once you warm up the entire jar the first time, it will be important to make sure you mix it up thoroughly especially the bottom half of the jar. That way, the next time it sets, you can just scoop out what you need and let the heat of your toasted bread melt it for you. It will still be well mixed and you get all the goodness of the Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna without the hassle of having to warm up the entire jar again. Enjoy and thank you for your comment. I’ve been using coconut manna for months. My family flipped when I first served this on toasted English muffins. Beyond an incredibly yummy spread, the uses in recipes are limitless. I sound like a commercial, but I just really love it.

Hello! You sound like me! Right now, I’m loving the Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna on toasted bread (different types of bread like bagels, regular toast) with honey but have yet to try it on toasted English muffins! That sounds yummy, who doesn’t love a good English muffin?! 🙂 I’ve put the Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna in my yogurts too but have yet to branch out further than that. I’d like to try it in muffins and sauces but I’ll wait until I’m a little braver! Let me know if you’ve tried any other recipe ideas with the Nutiva Organic Coconut Manna. I’m sure they’re all delicious! Hope to see you again soon! From the family at http://www.ThingsThatWeDo.com

I have used this Nutiva Coconut Manna for many things. Such as in Indian and Thai cuisine, and also in smoothies. The coconut manna is different from the Nutiva oil or butter because it has some of the flesh of the coconut in it. Which makes it great to be used on toast and other foods.

    1. admin says:

Hello LuxeBC! Agreed on all points. I love the Coconut Manna for this reason. Have you tried the Coconut Manna on toast yet with honey drizzled on top? It is soooo yummy, rich but not overwhelming and when I’m done, I feel satisfied until lunch. It’s a great breakfast option. Hm…makes me think I should update my photos for this blog…the image of Coconut Manna on my toast is incredibly appealing right now! Hope you visit our site again soon!
