Breakfast, what do you eat? What do your children eat? It’s always a dilemma and I’m trying to jazz up that morning routine.

Recently, I spent some serious time in the grocery aisles analyzing the different products to try and find something I could test for ThingsThatWeDo.com that would be a good breakfast option for all of us.

Guess what I discovered?

Say hello to Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal!

Product Review: What ingredients are in Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal?

Here are the ingredients that go into the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal: organic rolled whole grains – rye, barley, oats, and wheat.

That’s it.

You know what that spells? That’s smells FIBER. Each ½ cup serving gives you 20% of our daily recommended intake of dietary fiber with 2 grams of soluble fiber and 3 grams of insoluble fiber.

Now, on to taste.

Product Review: How does Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal taste?

For this review, both my daughter (8 year old child) and I tasted the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal for breakfast. At the time of this review, we’ve had the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal for breakfast for a good 5 days.

My kid’s first reaction upon eating her first bite of Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal: “Yummy”. She continues to eat and one oat escapes so I hear this, “I want this oat” and she devours that too. I ask her to tell me about the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal and her response, “It’s better than oatmeal.”

Need I say more?

I’m impressed by the look of the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal. Look inside the container and all you see are completely whole grains, not powdered grainy stuff. Once cooked the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal does get soft and breaks down a bit but you can still see that most of the grains are whole.

When I asked my daughter to tell me about the Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal, here’s what she had to say, “It looks like cornflakes. It tastes good with honey, tastes like oatmeal. It’s bumpyish, squishyish (as she laughs at her choice of fictitious words), but has more of a chew to it.”

Asked her the next question: would you eat it again? Her response, “NO. Hahahahahaha!” YES!!” (Kid humour, you gotta love it).

What do I think about Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal? I thought it was really yummy too. I like all the hearty grains that don’t go mush like the average oatmeal does. There’s a chew to it that I really like that you often don’t get with standard oatmeal.

Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal tastes great plain and has a great nutty flavour. Now, add some honey and milk and you’ve got a completely different experience. That’s how my big kid chose to eat her bowl of Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal but you could easily pair it with fresh fruit, cinnamon and sugar, or whatever else you fancy.

Verdict:

Would I recommend Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal to others? Yep, absolutely. Aside from the fiber content, I just happen to really appreciate the flavour and the whole grains that you get in this hot cereal. Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal is easy to eat and is just so warm and yummy especially on a cold winter morning. If you’re used to eating oatmeal for breakfast, why not jazz things up a bit and try Country Choice Organic Multigrain Hot Cereal? I’m glad we did!
