Welcome to www.ThingsThatWeDo.com where you’ll find product and food reviews and reviews about different events and shows, all from me. Who am I? Well, among all the other roles I assume on a daily basis I’m a mom first; a mom who believes in reading labels and finding out more information about the different things I buy and spend my hard earned money on. I’m also naturally inquisitive (friends might call me otherwise) and I like to try new products whenever I can.
You might ask, how did I come up with the name of www.ThingsThatWeDo.com? I’ll be honest. I didn’t! As a mom, I’ve become quite opinionated about what I like and don’t like. I read labels and encourage my daughter to do the same when we go grocery shopping. Better to start early, make it fun, than pay for it later. I want her to grow up to be a critical thinker, not a sponge. I also frequently share my views about things I like or don’t like with people I know – family, friends, colleagues. I also believe businesses deserve to know when they’re doing well or when they need constructive feedback to move forward. So, yes, I will call companies when I love a product and I’ll also call them when they fail miserably but of course, I do it in a positive and professional manner. After all, the person on the phone isn’t the one responsible for it all!
When I started to think of a business/website name for my product review site, I tried a number of different ideas but everything was already taken. So, I tapped into my precious resource – my 5 year old daughter (who’s now 9)! I told her I wanted to come up with a website where I’d tell others about things we’ve done together or things we’ve used. I’d let people know my opinion about them so that other families could make more informed decisions about those products. What does she say to me? “Mommy, how about ThingsThatWeDo.com?” Brilliant!
ThingsThatWeDo.com launched live on May 7, 2011. Since then, we’ve posted daily about different products, events, foods, and thoughts. We talk about big things and small things but they’re always things that revolve around one key focus: the family. The rest is history!
All the product and event reviews you’ll read on this site are of products we’ve used, things we’ve done together, or other family related ‘stuff’. Occasionally, you may even get my daughter’s feedback for certain reviews! Over the years, her thoughts have become more pertinent and have helped to guide the direction of ThingsThatWeDo.com.
My goal/our goal: to share some of my/our thoughts with you and maybe, just maybe, you’ll find of the information useful for your family too! Happy reading!
