thingsthatwedo.com - cadbury dairy milk with pretzel and peanut butter

Anyone who regularly visits ThingsThatWeDo.com knows that I’m not a giant fan of chocolate. I’ve reviewed a number of chocolate products and most get mediocre comments at best. I often find chocolates too sweet to even do it justice. On the rare occasion, I find something I really really like that makes me really happy.

Enter Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate bar with Pretzel and Peanut Butter. Boy, talk about a tasty piece of chocolate. The flavours of this chocolate bar blend so well I’m surprised other companies haven’t tried to mimic them! What makes this Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate bar with Pretzel and Peanut Butter so special?

Well, for starters, it’s got peanut butter and I love peanut butter. ‘Aha’, you say, ‘then you must like those Reese’s peanut butter cups’ to which I would answer, “NO WAY”. Once upon a time, I loved them but now I find them far too sweet and not enough PB. The peanut butter flavour in this Cadbury bar is somehow combined directly into the milk chocolate itself which is smooth, rich and isn’t too sweet. On top of all that, it’s got just the right amount of pretzel pieces to give crunch and depth. The salt from the pretzel pieces also complements and balances out the flavour profile.

Translation: me happy, super happy and I don’t often get happy about chocolate.

So, what ingredients are in the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate bar with Pretzel and Peanut Butter?

Well, you know it’s a chocolate bar so you can imagine what you’ll find in it. If you were curious, here’s the list of ingredients that went into making this bar of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk with Pretzel and Peanut Butter: milk chocolate (sugar, milk ingredients, cocoa cutter, unsweetened chocolate, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavours), peanut butter chips (sugar, modified oil (palm and palm kernel), peanut flour, modified milk ingredients, peanuts, dextrose, salt, soy lecithin), pretzel pieces (wheat flour, coconut oil, salt, malt (barley), vegetable oil, yeast, sodium hydroxide).

I mean, it’s a chocolate bar so you know, it’s got stuff in it. I think the key is to make informed choices and to eat with happiness and in moderation.

Does this mean you’d eat this Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate bar with Pretzel and Peanut Butter again?

Totally, without a doubt. I appreciate that I can eat a small chunk of this chocolate and be completely satisfied. I don’t think I could eat an entire chocolate bar in one sitting so it’s sensible (and cost effective!) to eat a small portion and save the rest for another day.

Take a look at the Nutrition Facts label and you’ll see that 9 squares or 38 grams of this chocolate bar gives you 17% of your daily intake of fat and 19 grams of sugar.

Now, in all honesty, I don’t think I’ve ever had 9 squares in one day. At most, I might have 6 squares but I’m usually more than happy with 3 squares. So, when I factor all that in, this isn’t a particularly terrible choice for me. In fact, it’s reasonable and puts a smile on my face!
