A long time ago, we did a product review on the Kiss My Face olive and honey soap. Recently, we noticed that Kiss My Face changed its product design and decided to pick up a different soap to test out. For today’s product review, we’re going to look at the Kiss My Face Olive and Aloe soap. Would it hold up to our expectations of the Kiss My Face brand?

Every family has a stroller of some sort. Regardless of the brand, strollers often help families get from point A to point B with child in tow. There are big strollers, little strollers, and in between strollers which is why this warning from Health Canada sends shivers down my spine. This Health Canada warning reminds families of the dangers that strollers can pose on children.

I read the Health Canada warning and it pains me to be reminded that children are at risk when they are left unattended in a stroller. There’s a risk of entrapment (gosh, how I hate that word), asphyxiation, or falls. Have their been deaths?? Yep, and of course, strollers alone aren’t the cause but it is a key reminder that children must not be left unattended.

Do yourself a favour and click on the link below to read the full details of this safety warning from Health Canada:

Safety: Health Canada Warns Parents and Caregivers of Risks Posed by Improper Use of Strollers

A few weeks back, I did a makeup review on the Maybelline New York Eye Studio eye shadow in the purple icon colour quad colour palette. Well, I thought I’d follow up with a makeup review on a product from the same line but in a different colour. After all, one positive review might be luck but 2 good product reviews would definitely carry more weight. Thus, for today’s product review, I’m looking into the Maybelline New York Eye Studio eye shadow in the taupe temptress quad palette. If Maybelline has played their cards right, this taupe temptress quad should have the same feel and texture. The only difference, of course, should be in the colour right?

Okay, so who watched the London Summer Olympics 2012 Opening ceremony yesterday? Did you like it? What was your favourite part? Did you watch with your child?

This year, my kid is 6 years old and able to watch and comprehend the Olympics with a more sophisticated eye. Two years back, she watched the Winter Olympics opening ceremony and at 4 years of age, it was much more simplistic. This year, she’s asking a lot more questions, asking about the purpose of the Olympics and above all, she can’t wait to see the different events. Can you guess which one she really wants to see? Yep, archery! Given her recent love of all things Brave related, archery is the one Olympics sporting event that she can’t wait to see. She also happened to spot a horse during the Opening ceremony that reminded her of Angus, go figure!

Here’s to the 2012 Summer Olympics. Here’s to all the athletes that have spent countless hours to get to this point in time. Here’s to all the families and children who are watching the Summer Olympics. Enjoy the sporting events and have fun!

Have you ever heard of these October Fifth Bakery One Bite Almond Cakes? I certainly haven’t until I was roaming the aisles of my local grocery store and stumbled on to them sitting there on a shelf. I was instantly intrigued by the design on the box and quite frankly, they sounded kind of neat. I read the ingredients and these October Fifth Bakery One Bite Almond Cakes didn’t sound too bad. Since these October Fifth Bakery One Bite Almond Cakes aren’t a staple in our family’s daily food repertoire, they seemed like the ideal product for testing on ThingsThatWeDo.com. I mean, if I’ve never heard of them before, then maybe our readers haven’t either. So, what exactly is an October Fifth Bakery One Bite Almond Cake?

Who doesn’t like chips? Fess up, we all do. I know I do, my daughter does and so does my husband. Do we eat a bag of chips a day? Certainly not but we like chips just as much as the next family. Having said that, it doesn’t mean you should indulge in them all the time. To provide a healthier spin, some companies have started to offer what they would consider to be healthier options.

Allow me to introduce exhibit A: Kettle Brand baked potato chips. My husband found this bag of Kettle Brand baked hickory honey barbeque potato chips at our local grocery store and decided to buy them so we could do a product review on them. After all, potato chips can be found in many homes around the world and we all pretty much know what they taste like. The question is, would a baked potato chip taste good? Would a baked potato chip taste good enough that you’d switch for it?

Ever since the Brave movie with Princess Merida, Queen Elinor and King Fergus, my kid has been absolutely enamored by all things Brave related. Well, if your child watched the
Brave children’s movie and loved it, you might be wondering how you can extend the movie experience, right? I mean, there are always teachable moments, if you know where to look.

Lo and behold, check out what I just discovered during our recent trip to the bookstore. There is a Brave Read-Along Storybook and CD pack from Disney and Pixar. Holy moly, you won’t believe what kind of a gem this little pack is!

I’m sitting here scratching my head. I’m puzzled and a tad confused. Didn’t summer just start and didn’t my kid just finish school yesterday?! WOW. Is it even possible that summer holidays is almost half done?! It seems like just the other day when we were trying to plan out what my kid would be doing over the summer holidays and now all of a sudden, I feel like there isn’t enough time to do everything that we want to do.

Perhaps it’s a sign of the fast paced times that today’s families live in. Perhaps, our days are just too full. The one thing that I’m most grateful for this summer is spending more time with our neighbors. This summer, we had a collective garage sale and we enjoyed a cozy BBQ with simple foods and great company. It was one of those homey gatherings where you could just be yourself, makeup free and laughing.

So, while this summer is moving along extremely quickly, it’s been rewarding to have those relaxing moments where we’ve been able to cherish the people around us. Hopefully, you’ve all had some time to relax, unwind, and cherish those little moments too. If not, make sure you put it on the top of your summer to do list!
